My girlfriend from California (she lives in Utah now) came to visit this last week. We had so much fun. We went to a few of the cool tourist spots and even did a Temple session!

4th of July Festivities !!

We went to Alissa's Aunts house again this year with her family. It is such a great place. They have a huge pond to fish and a pool to swim. We all love it and always have a blast. Emily is just kickin butt in the swimming dept. She loves it. Just give her a ring and shes gone. She wants to do it all by herself ! I'm so glad she loves the water.

Youth Conference 2009

Last weekend I had the opportunity to attend our Youth Conference as a chaperone for 2 days. I'll admit I was not to thrilled and could think of a thousand things I'd rather do then spend 2 days with teenagers ! But it turned out to be great. We got to stay in an awesome hotel which was even more awesome since it was FREE (to me ) !We had a great service project where we broke into groups and the kids interviewed elderly people at a retirement center. Our theme for Y.C. was "Heroes" so the whole point of the kids interviewing was to find out what kind of "heroes" these older people had in their lives. It was really cool, the kids loved it . Afterwards we all gathered in the foyer of the home, sang songs, and talked about what we learned from our "interviewees" ! We closed with "I am Child of God" and a prayer. The residents of the home loved it. I loved looking around and seeing the joy on their faces as we sang. The Spirit was very present in that room ! We had a dance that night, it was hilarious. I havent laughed that hard in a long time. I would never want to go back to that age again. I felt so embarrassed for the boys asking the girls to dance !! It brought back alot of memories of my days spent with friends at Youth activities. Im so thankful for the church and the Youth organization!
It ALSO made me have a better appreciation for the leaders I had when I was young!!!!

Oh Rats !

We went to Uncle Mikeys this week to swim. They are animal and house sitting for their neighbors. The animals they are sitting are RATS ! SO of course Emily loved them ! YUCK ! We are not getting Rats, I have to draw the line somewhere......NO RODENTS!!
