I just wanted to post some random pictures of our wild child !! How does something so small have so much energy?

Sunburns !

Yes, Emily got sunburned this week. We went to Mike and Adi's again on Friday to swim. I covered her in sunblock before and during the time we were there so I was surprised when I saw her sunburn. Emily loves the pool. We have to bribe her to get out so putting sunblock on is a real fun task. I put aloe vera gel on it and gave her some motrin which seemed to help. Heres a few pics.

Sleepover @ Honey and Paw Paws

Emily had her first sleepover with "Honey" wednesday night. I had a dentist appt. so Emily went to Andys parents house. Donna had been wanting to try a sleepover with Emily , so we tried it. Donna said she did really good, only woke up 1 time and kind of looked around and fussed for a while but went back to sleep.
It was so nice to have time with my husband. We went to the gym together then went out to dinner. We actually got to go to bed at the same time too. Im so thankful for my mother-in-law. I know she is establishing a lasting relationship with Emily. Emily loves hers so much. Thanks Honey !When I went to pick Em up she had her hair in pigtails it was so cute.I tried to get some pictures.

What a mess!

This last week Emily asked for Strawberries, I usually put a spoonful of strawberries and coolwhip in a bowl but I was in a hurry so I just grabbed the bowls and put her in her seat . I came back in the kitchen a minute later and this is what I saw !!!!! Both hands in the coolwhip bowl. She said, "yum ice cream" !

Terrible 2's

Emily turned 2 and turned into an animal....she climbs into and onto everything. I thought toddlers did all this before they were 2? Im so glad she hasnt figured out how to open the fridge yet. Its amazing how fast she gets into things. By the end of the day I'm thinking "whats the point" after cleaning up mess after mess after mess all day long.

" I LUBB You , kitty"

We all know how much Emily loves animals.....I always say its because shes never been scratched or bit. Well Mike and Adi have a cat that hangs around their apt. complex. When we went there to swim Emily saw the cat and just had to hug and kiss the kitty. She was saying "awe I lubb you kitty". We were all standing right there making sure she wasnt torchering this cat. Well next thing I know I see Michael jump over Adi and right to Em. Then I hear Emily screaming crying. Well....the cat apparently didnt appreciate the "love" from Emily and just latched right on to her arm. She actually had 4 punctures that broke the skin. We cleaned it out really well with antibacterial soap,peroxide , and neosporin...after all that guess what she wanted to do ???Yep , go see the kitty!

Fathers Day !

Well another exciting day in the McCartney family !( not really)! We went to church then to Andys parents house for dinner and dessert. Emily and I got Andy a pocket picture viewer thing and a 47in. Plasma TV for Fathers day ! He's pretty lucky huh? Well, he deserves it. He works his butt off. He leaves gets up @ 4:30 am and doesnt get home until 5:30 pm, not to mention the 58 mile (one way) drive. Its hotter then you know what out here too. He has started to take an extra set of clothes to work so he can change at lunch because by then he is soaked with sweat. Im so thankful for him and all he does for me and Em. I know now why I was 30 before I was married.....The Lord was saving him for me. Emily is so lucky to have him for a daddy.
Andy and I are also thankful for our dads. Thankful for all they do for us and the great examples they are. We are truly lucky ! Heres a few pictures from today !

My new calling

Today at church the Bishop asked us if he could come over this evening and talk with us. Andy received his new calling today , Asst. Ward Clerk. So we naturally thought he was coming over to talk to Andy about things. Well.....nope. He said "I feel strongly impressed to call you as Young Womens President" !!!!!! I said , "HUH" "Are you serious" ?
Holy cow, this is huge. A big responsiblity. But with the Lords help I know I can do it. I will be a little sad (a little ) to leave my R.S. calling . I was just starting to feel good about it . I will miss going to R.S. . For years I never cared about it but now that I am an adult and a parent I love it. Apparently the Lord thought I was too bored at home with a 2 year old and my once a month teaching calling! I hope I can do this calling the way the Lord intends and I hope I can be a good influence. I remember what a huge impact my councelors made in my life when I was younger. I hope I can be a positive influence in theirs.
Please keep me in your prayers as start this new "journey" . Thank you !!

Relief Society lesson

I was called as a Relief Society teacher a couple months ago . I teach the 2nd Sunday of every month. I decided Im going to write down the things I learn from each lesson every month.
This weeks lesson is Chapter 11 "The Organization and Destiny of the True and Living Church".
I havent taught this lesson yet(I do on Sunday) but have been studying the last few days and I just get overwhelmed at what an amazing person Joseph Smith was. I dont know about you all but when I was 14 I wasnt even thinking about the things he was. I heard Pres. Hinckley say one time that when he thinks of all the wonders of the world he thinks one the greatest was the courage of a 14yr old boy named Joseph Smith.
Isnt that true? Obvisously he had great faith to begin with, to even have the thought to pray to Heavenly Father. He knew Heavenly Father would help him and direct him. We are so lucky to have a modern prophet who leads and guides us through the will of our Heavenly Father.
In the lesson there is a quote by Joseph Smith that says:
"You know no more concerning the destinies of this Church and kingdom than a babe upon its mother's lap. You dont comprehend it.....This Church will fill North and South America--it will fill the world".
One of my favorite parts of General Conference is when the church statistics are read. Its amazing to hear how much the church grows.

After playing in the pool Emily discovered the hose ...she couldnt quite control it though and ended up gettin herself in the face !! It was pretty funny !
