Young Womens lessons and handouts

Today my lesson was on repentence , I found these Huge erasers at Dollar Tree that say "For BIG mistakes" on the front. I thought that would be so cute for a handout at the end of class. I had my "creative minded" Mom come up with a cute little saying. I attached it with card stock and ribbon. The girls loved them of course. Im finding new web-sites that are somewhat linked to the church ( but not official church websites) that have tons of cute ideas for lessons, activites, and handouts. I'd like to say Im creative but Im really not,not with out a little help anyway :0)!
Last week my lesson was on Obedience so I introduced the lesson with announcing we were gonna make my famous Choco Chip cookies. I had one of the girls read my recipe .....for the oil , I used Baby oil. I said "I didnt have any oil at home so I figured this would work " , for eggs I put the whole egg shell and all in the bowl, by now the girls are gettin a little worried. Next, flour -I cut up two small real flowers and mixed them in, baking soda --open a can of soda pop and put it the bowl. The girls are having a fit by now.....salt--garlic salt. "Chips"-- potato chips!!! Anyways the whole point was you need to be obedient to the "recipes" of life or your cookies (life) wont turn out how you want ! It went really good. ( I hope all that made sense to you all! ) My take home handout was a recipe card with scriptures on obedience written out like a recipe.
The week before that my lesson was on Free agency. I found small little gift boxes at the Dollar tree wrapped ribbon around them and a note that said " The Gift of Free Agency". I know , I know ......Cute huh? Dont you wish you had me for a YW leader !!! Just kidding . I do,so far really like my calling. Its fun and I seem to have really good girls and rumor has it they really like me too !
Heres a picture on my handout from today !

Crafty ?

Since becoming Young Womens President I am constantly on the hunt for cute, fun, and easy crafts for Wednesday nights. I found some cute little vinyl temples on a great web-site called Adhering Thoughts. So we made these tiles. They turned out REALLY cute. We only have 6 girls (when they are all there ) which makes making things more easy and fun. I had some left over tiles and temples so I made one for Emilys room with colored letters that says " I Love to see the Temple" (primary song)and I made another one for Carleigh ( cousin-in-law) that says Always C T R and hung it with pink ribbon. Im so excited how they turned out. Plus the girls loved them . Everyone seemed to be impressed at how cool they were.

My latest projects

Ok well I'm trying to be crafty I guess. A few months ago Ashley was here and we made these really cute butterfly bows. I then became obsessed....I have made about a million of them . I just think they are so cute. I've sent them out to family and friends I know with little girls. My mom keeps swearing I could sell them! But down here the BIG BOWS are style ( BYU bows is what I call them) So Im not too sure they would do too well. For now it will just be a fun thing to make and give away.

New Baby Doll !

Emily and I went to the Dollar Store yesturday and she wanted this baby doll. I even walked her back over to them and held up both dolls-- a white one and a black one and I said "Emily which one do you want"? Yep , this is what she wanted!! Im not gonna tell her she cant have a black doll. I dont want her to think there is anything different. Plus what do you expect we are surrounded by black people out here ! We will teach her to love them all!

The Sweetest Sound !

There is nothing in the world more sweet then hearing your child sing, especially Hymns or primary songs. Emily knows quite a few and tonight I was just doing my thing in the kitchen and she was at the table eating dinner when all the sudden she started " teach me to walk in the light of his love, teach me, teach me to walk in the light" . Andy just stopped in his tracks looked at me and we both were in shock. It instantly brought tears to my eyes. It was so cute. It really makes me realize how much she really does pay attention to things. She is so cute when she says prayers too. The other day before nap she said "say prayers mommy", "Heavenly Fahda" thank you Honey PawPaw, Jesus Christ Amen. I love it. There is nothing in the world more precious.

Daddy's Boots !

4th of July

My mom made Emily this dress , she wore it to church today . It is so cute and fit her perfect. She is such a stinker lately she wont let me take pictures of her.

This 4th we got invited to Alissas Aunts house (my sis-n-law). The same place we went for Memorial weekend. Except this time we swam in the pool most of the day . It was really fun. Not to mention the pool is unbelievable. Its a black bottom rock pool. It also has a little wading area thats great for the kids. We all had so much fun. Most of us came home with pretty good sunburns !! Emily has absolutely no fear when it comes to the pool. She would just jump right in if we werent watching her. I decided to try "floaties", she loved it. She did so good. Of course she didnt want me to help her or touch her she wanted to do it all by herself. Only thing I had to remind her of was to keep her mouth closed. I just cant beleive shes only 2 and she did really good. Andy caught a huge fish (bass) , he brought home to get mounted. It was a great 4th .

Finally !

Its been raining alot lately but yesturday it was really nice and sunny . So I got out the pool. Emily loves swimming. She was having a blast going down the slide and squirting me with the hose. We dont have nice community pools out here like Utah so this is a good as it get for us !

Later after swimming I said to Emily " lets go outside and cleanup the backyard, we need to empty out the pool" . I start to move the slide next thing I know Emily is diving in FULLY clothed. I didnt get mad , just ran inside to grab my camera !

Drums

Emily always talks about playing the drums or the trumpet ( I dont know where she comes up with this stuff) So we made some drums. She thought that was "awesome" (her word)

4th of July dress from Grandma

Bug eater !

I know its hard to see, can you see the lizard ? He's hangin upside down on the window ledge. He lives out front somewhere. Everyday he walks the window seals looking for bugs. He's on a different window everyday. I guess its a blessing having him out there, for him and us !!

Dancin, Dancin !

Emily has been really into dancing lately. Everytime she hears music she says "mommy dance" !

Emilys taught herself to put her shoes on. I know there crocs but still we're proud !

Strong Girl!

I only get to go to the gym 4 days a week now instead 6 so I do arms at home. Well Emily wanted to join in the other night. We were shocked...she could pick the weights up and wanted to do the same thing as me. It was pretty funny !
