This weekend in a Nuttshell !

Earlier this weekend I was doing some craft thing and I went out to the garage to get something out of my craft tub and I saw a MOUSE run into the storage shed!!! I went in grabbed a trap, set it and started the count down ! Well long story short....it took a few days but we got em'! If this mouse stuff keeps up we MIGHT have to get a cat. I hate cats but I hate mice more !
Seems like lately all the sudden Im bombarded with Church stuff. "Hello", I am the Young Womens Pres. arent I supposed to be ???
Anyways, Saturday night Sheri Dew (LDS Author and Pres. of Deseret Book)came to speak in Baton Rouge for a Relief Society Fireside. So the McCartney girls(minus Adi) and the Heirtzler girls met for dinner and went the fireside together. It was so fun to get out with all the girls and NO KIDS !
Sheri Dew was great. She is a great speaker, very enthusiastic and very inspirational. The topic of her talk was "Finding Joy in the Journey". She talked about "Hurricanes" and how we will all go through "hurricanes" in life. We are here to be tested, for heavens sake and "If life was meant to be easy it wouldnt be hard". I wish would have taken notes. So much of what she said really hit home for me. During her talk she asked people to raise their hand and tell what in life has turned out to be alot harder then they had expected. You wouldnt believe the things people were saying. It just goes to show you EVERYONE has worries, concerns and hardships. She talked about how much the Lord loves women and how important our role is. Which alot of us already know but sometimes its good to be reminded that we are raising the Lords children and he has entrusted his precious children to us and we have all been saved to be on the earth in this dispensation for a reason. She said that Pres. Hinckley said we are the most divine and the strongest women of any dispensation. When I hear that I kind laugh to myself because I thought the pioneers had it much harder then us. The pioneers amaze me, the faith and the strength those people had was unbelievable. They didnt have the medical technology that we have and many of them lost child after child to diseases and sicknesses that we now have cures for. I just couldnt imagine picking up , packing what little I had and getting in a covered wagon or pulling a hand cart for hundreds of miles !
If you ever have an opportunity to hear her speak, you will not be disappointed.

Today we went to Collins, Mississippi to a family reunion. It was Andys grandmas family. It was pretty interesting. It has got to be so weird to see everyone get so old and fraile. Myrna (andys grandma) has been battling cancer for a year or so now. She went to that reunion just skinny as can be and completely bald--bless her heart.
We all rode together in Andys Aunt Tonis motorhome. It was about a 2 hour drive so it was great to be able to ride together in COMFORT. Their motorhome is unbelievable. Top of the line everything. Aunt Toni brought Laurens (andys cousin) 2 girls Parker is 6 ? and Presley is 8 weeks and talk about beautiful kids!! Andy and I were the only ones "cool enough" from our family to accompany Mom and Dad ( Rocky and Donna) !!
I have 2 big meetings again this week for YW and one of them I have to do a little presentation----"HINT" -- Dont ever move to a small town and expect to have a small calling !!!IT wont happen!! ITs ok . I dont mind it . I have learned alot and I know I am blessed for my service! ( I HOPE )
This is a picture of Laurens baby Presley....isnt she adorable? Look at those eyelashes!

I've been dying to see a picture of Lauren's baby! Thanks for posting. I am so glad that Myrna was able to go to that family reunion. Which part of the family was it for? Sorry about your mouse problem. And good luck with Young Womens! We painted pumpkins for our last activity. Thanks for that idea!

I have peeked in on some of their families blogs looking for some information about layrn. she and I were very good friend and I would love to get in touch with her. If there is any way you could give her my information and tell her that I would love to talk to her I would be sincerely grateful. My maiden name is Kasey Yarn. My e-mail is kbally80@hotmail.com. By the way you have a very lovley family. Thanks for reading. Kasey
